Northern Circuit

The Northern Circuit is Tanzania's safari heartland and one of the most wildlife-rich regions on Earth. Anchored by the legendary Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, this circuit offers an unparalleled concentration of Africa's most iconic animals and landscapes.

Starting from the safari capital of Arusha, the circuit typically winds through Lake Manyara's varied ecosystem, up to the Ngorongoro highlands, and across to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Each park offers a distinctly different experience — from Tarangire's ancient baobab forests and massive elephant herds to the flamingo-fringed shores of Lake Manyara.

The infrastructure here is the most developed in Tanzania, with options ranging from basic campsites to some of Africa's most exclusive safari lodges. Yet the sheer scale of the landscape means it never feels crowded — particularly in the Serengeti, where the plains stretch to the horizon in every direction.
